So Glad She's Not A Pyromaniac!

I had a neglectful parenting moment the other day. I was exhausted and fell asleep for an hour. Fortunately, my child's not the type who likes to set fire to things when left unattended...like I was. I woke up and found her under the tree in the front yard... drawing. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have Joy as my daughter. So much so that I simultaneously want to have more and let her be an only child. As absurd as it sounds, I don't want to run the risk that number two doesn't turn out as well. Is that crazy?

I was that way too.

Not the type to ste things on fire. But to just be quiet and let mommy or daddy sleep and stay out of trouble.

My first is 9 and he never threw tantrums, woke up laughing in his crib, slept through the night from the day we brought him home... the list goes on and on. I didn't find myslef in the position to parent another child for 8 years and I always joked with friends that it was because I knew I couldn't get this lucky twice! But it was only half a joke. I WAS a little afraid of what I would get the second time around. Hahaha. My second boy is SO not his brother. The sleep issues are... interesting. The tantrums are... something other than interesting. It's all new to me! I don't regret it one bit. But I do remember feeling that way. Now my doubts are of myself rather than the kind of kid I might have. My sister tells me she should have stopped at 2 because she's just not as patient with three and I wonder if I should stop at two... Don't you love the self-doubt of parenting? lol
